Being a student is the best opportunity to develop yourself. Only a few campuses provide opportunities to develop their skills capacity and open networking opportunities for their students. Not a few students also competed to participate in the wild wilderness to participate in international events. The existence of international activities provided by the campus is a good opportunity for students to participate.
At this Teatime, January 29, 2022, the International Program Communication Department of the Universitas Islam Indonesia (IPC UII) talked about campus programs that are a shame to miss. Inviting one of UII’s Communication Studies alumni, Muhammad Akbar Priandanu, to chat casually will motivate students to take advantage of the opportunities and facilities provided by the campus. Currently working as an Event Management Specialist at the PR Indonesia Group, Akbar also shared his participation in UII Communications during his studies.
While a student at UII Communications, Akbar saw many activities and programs on campus that could develop skills and opportunities for international activities. “I used to really take part in campus events. For me it’s a good opportunity. An opportunity for me to develop myself,” said Akbar.
Akbar recounted his experiences participating in the collaboration program between UII Communication, the UN program, and the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Communication Department Programs. “These programs have introduced me to social humanitarian activities and perspectives such as gender, inclusiveness, empowerment, even culture and historical heritage,” explained Akbar. He was also a Research Presenter at the Southeast Asia Conference on Media, Cinema and the Arts 2021, organized by the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies, Gadjah Mada University.
Being actively involved in these events opened up Akbar’s opportunities to get to know the international world. Besides that, it also opens friendship opportunities and further development opportunities.
